چکیده

One‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌most‌ ‌prominent‌ ‌construction‌ ‌materials‌ ‌for‌ ‌walls‌ ‌in‌ ‌Philippines‌ ‌is‌ ‌concrete‌ ‌hollow‌ ‌blocks‌ ‌or‌ ‌CHB‌ ‌due‌ ‌to‌‌ their lower cost‌ ‌than‌ ‌other‌ ‌available‌ ‌and‌ ‌ease‌ ‌production‌ ‌installation.‌ To manage our energy and resources, including waste, carbonized‌ ‌biomass‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌bonding‌ ‌agent‌ ‌production was studied to ‌aid‌ ‌country's growing‌ ‌need‌ ‌for‌‌construction materials‌ ‌. On-site fabricated CHB with several percent of carbonized biomass (CB) as substitutes for sand (0%, 20%, 50% CB), commercial CHB, are subjected volume, weight, density determination, ultimate compressive strength test. The gathered data undergo analysis through one-way ANOVA determine the difference among produced different percentages biomass. Cost also done costs profitability CHB. As a result, bonding agent low density, better than commercially available (with proper curing applied), can be more profitable increasing content.

Feasibility of cattle urine as nutrient medium for the microalgal biomass production

Thenutrient medium used for the cultivation of microalgae adds more cost to its value-added product as well as the commercial scale application. Therefore in this study, focused feasibility of cattle urine as a cheap source of nutrients for microalgal growth, because, it contains various minerals and economical which may support the growth of microalgae and reduce the medium cost. To check this...

Radioiodine as a possible triggering agent for pemphigus foliaceus

Pemphigus foliaceus (PF) is an autoimmune blistering disease presenting in endemic and sporadic forms. The typical presentation is recurrent shallow erosions in a seborrheic distribution. PF has also been found in association with autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune thyroid disease (e.g. toxic nodular goiter and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis). In some patients, PF appears to be triggered by radioi...

Hydrothermal carbonization of biomass as a route for the sequestration of CO2: Chemical and structural properties of the carbonized products

A highly functionalized carbonaceous material (hydrochar) was obtained by means of the hydrothermal carbonization (250 oC) of two representative types of biomass, i. e. eucalyptus sawdust and barley straw. This product has a brown colour, it contains around 50-60 % of the carbon present in the biomass and it is composed by particles that retain the cellular appearance of the raw material. These...
